Changes in Natural England’s Bat ER Site Registration Fees

Bats | 15 December 2023

Important Notice: Starting March 1st 2024, Natural England's Bat ER Site Registration will incur a fee of £130 unless exempt. Natural England currently does not charge for this service so this will be an additional cost to projects.

Additional Charges: Also if your site registration undergoes a Further Information Request (FIR), an invoice for additional assessment hours at £101 per hour will be issued.

Exemption Criteria: Exemptions may apply if the project primarily aims to preserve public health and safety, conserve a bat roost in situ, contribute to the conservation of a listed building, or is a householder home improvement project. Natural England are likely to display the details of exemption criteria nearer the time or within the application form, we will be assessing this as soon as they are released and informing clients more as soon as we know.

Application Assistance: For any queries regarding Bat ER Site Registration, bat surveys, mitigation, or licensing, contact GES. Our team is here to assist you every step of the way.
