Desk Study Data Analysis

Desk Study Data Analysis is often part of our reporting process but we also offer this service as a standalone package. Desk Study Data Analysis is often used by those that are interested in the presence of designated sites and/or recorded protected species within a site and is surrounding area. Clients include developers looking for information related to possible future sites and individuals with an interest in their local area.

When providing Desk Study Data Analysis we obtain the historical records from both freely available internet resources such as the Magic.gov.org and more robust data sources such as your local Biological Records Centre (BRC). Once the records have been received we analyse the data to establish if there are any designated sites within the area and their distance and location from the site. We also analyse the data for records of protected species and type and assess their distance and location from site. The findings are presented within a report and a copy of the BRC data is also included.

Historical records provide further information regarding the potential ecological interest associated with both the site and the surrounding area and may subsequently serve to support planning applications.

If you think you may be interested in finding out more about your surrounding area and/or future site please contact us today. hello
